There's no reason to continue running, and it will be detrimental to learning, if by 5 minutes into the campaign, it's obvious that you have no shot at completing it in an hour. But if you're not an expert in the campaign, that won't include you. While it's true you can still complete it if you're over, the people who can do this will probably never be over to begin with.
For beginners, if you're over by even one second, STOP!!! This is a mistake most people make. Starlite's Time Record - Pay close attention to this. Pokeytoe's Tips & Tricks - This will help you learn what to do for running the conquest. Pokeytoe's Map Guide - This will give a few tips, so that you don't need to spend time searching entire zones, as many maps have only a few specific locations destinations can spawn at. Not that a Demon Hunter can't do it, but it's easier to learn with a monk, as they are by far the fastest class, and will give you the most room for errors. If you've never done it before, I'd seriously suggest to use a monk over a Demon Hunter.
