The new season will also come with new story content adjacent to the main story. The developer calls these powers “stupid broken.” Once slotted, the Hearts confer Legendary powers on the wearer. These accessories will come with three different slots during the season: red, blue, or yellow. Players can slot them into specific, color-coded slots on rings and amulets. Now, the Caged Hearts are the treasures of this season. Killing them after the respawn will drop a Caged Heart. Interacting with the Heart will resurrect the monster, make them more difficult to kill, and add summons for them. Once killed, these monsters drop a Malignant Heart. As players go through the season, they might encounter Malignant monsters. These characters will go through the game as is and will earn some sweet goodies in the process.īesides a new realm for characters, the season will also introduce a new mechanic called Malignant Heart. As with Diablo III, the first season will require players to create a new seasonal character.
